Recovery on Campus

Action Plan Launch

Join us for a an interactive breakfast event unveiling the Recovery on Campus Action plan and launch of the Recovering in Place Lab!

This milestone marks an exciting new chapter as we announce $3 million in new provincial funding to strengthen recovery-friendly campuses across Alberta. Led by the University of Calgary, Recovery on Campus supports students, staff, and faculty who are in or seeking recovery from addiction. Through scholarships, research opportunities, one-on-one and group support, education, and campus partnerships, we are working toward post-secondary communities where recovery is visible, valued, and supported for everyone.

The program will feature remarks from leaders, and people with lived experience, and will highlight practical ways to partner across Alberta’s 26 publicly funded post-secondary institutions.

This gathering will bring together University leadership, the Government of Alberta, and our Senior Leadership Team to spotlight the bold future of recovery-friendly campuses. We will collectively engage in:

  • Exploring our four strategic pillars for the next three years
  • The launch of the Recovering in Place Lab and its cutting-edge recovery science research
  • An interactive discussion around supporting our campus communities
  • The evolving vision for growth, sustainability, and culture shift in higher education

A light breakfast will be provided. Please let us know about any dietary considerations in the comment section of your registration form.
